Research topics of interest in the PANTERA-Stars collective are about stellar shock physics, with specific emphasis on the topics listed below. These topics have in common to be involved in particle acceleration by astrophysical shocks and to be at the origin of non-thermal radiation. These stellar enviromnents cover thus a rather wide parameter space where a similar shock physics is at work.
Key questions for these environments are about the frequency of occurrence of particle acceleration (fraction of particle accelerators in their respective classes) and their non-thermal energy budget (in particular, the efficiency of particle acceleration). These questions are considered in the broader context of the contribution of various stellar sources to the production of Galactic cosmic-rays, in addition to that coming from supernova remnants.
