Spectral type(s): O7.5III + O8II/I
Multiplicity:
Confirmed binary system
Period(s): 14 d
Orbital solution: yes
Ref: Linder et al. (2008)
Comments:
This system presents an intra-band radio spectral index suggesting non-thermal emission. In addition, the radio emission is too bright to result only from the thermal free free emission from the stellar winds (Kurapati et al. 2017).
A visual companion has been detected at about 36 mas (with rather large uncertainty on the separation), potentially indicating a higher multiplicity system (Sana et al. 2014). In this scenario, the synchrotron radio emission may arise from a wind collision in the wider orbit.
